Employer Resources

Thank you for your interest in recruiting and connecting with Estrella Mountain Community College students. There are many ways in which to connect with our students in the career development process.

Recruitment

If you are interested in recruiting EMCC's  students for employment, you can choose to post a job on Pipeline AZ, participate in on-campus recruitment, and/or participate in our career fairs each semester.

Informational Interviews

Informational interviews are another career exploration opportunity for current Estrella Mountain Community College students to gather information from an individual working in the student's field of interest. Students who are interested in a certain career or educational pathway can set up a one-time 30 minute to 1 hour interview with an Estrella employee, faculty, or community member through the Career & Transfer Center. It will allow the student to meet with an individual employed in an occupation of interest to them to discuss and better understand the realities and demands of an occupation, clear up assumptions about the career, while also seeking advice from a professional. To add your name or business to our list of connections for students, please contact Brenda.Nelson@estrellamountain.edu.

Job Shadow

Job shadowing is a career exploration opportunity that will allow for current Estrella Mountain Community College students to find out what it is like to work in a specific profession. A student can arrange to shadow an Estrella employee, faculty member, or community member in their field of interest at their job for up to four hours. Job shadowing offers the chance for students to see what it is really like to work in a certain profession while also getting the chance to seek advice and information from a professional. If you are interested in sharing your career and educational pathway in a short period of time to help a student gain a better understanding of their goals, then this mentoring opportunity is for you. If you are interested in connecting with a student and allowing them to shadow you, please contact Brenda.Nelson@estrellamountain.edu.

*Although the informational interview and job shadowing experiences are a one-time occurrence with each student, this could be multiple experiences over the course of a semester or year, dependent upon the employee/community member.  Each experience will range 30 minutes to 1 hour and employee/community member will be called on a case-by-case basis.

Speakers Bureau

The speakers bureau is a list maintained by Estrella Mountain Community College of professionals interested in participating in a variety of career panels. If you are interested in sharing your experiences, career and educational, with a group of students in 50 minutes, then this mentoring opportunity is for you.
