EMCC Students Get Job Offers from Microsoft Before Even Graduating
Two Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) Microsoft Datacenter Academy Scholars have accepted job offers from the tech giant, and they aren’t even finished with school yet! Courtney Lord and Daniel Marian, both on track to graduate in 2027, are already full-time Datacenter Technicians at the Microsoft Datacenter in Goodyear.

8 EMCC Mountain Lions are 1st Graduating Class of TSMC Apprenticeship Program
Eight Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) Mountain Lions made history last December as the first graduating class of TSMC’s Technician Apprenticeship Program. Dubbed the “Great 8,” the students earned Industrialized Maintenance Mechanic journeyman cards from TSMC and Automated Industrial Technology (AIT) certificates from EMCC. They were celebrated on Dec. 8 at the Greater Phoenix Economic Council in Phoenix.

Have you heard the buzz around campus? Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) students are part of a National Science Foundation-funded native bee study!
The five-year project, titled “BUZZ: Engaging Community College Students in Native Bee Biodiversity Research,” aims to collect as much data as possible on the numbers and species of native bees in Arizona and California. EMCC is one of 28 colleges in the two states participating and currently has four students on its team.

EMCC Mountain Lion Explores Space [Rocks] at U of A
Shooting stars, falling stars, whatever you call them, they’re all meteors. But the ones that withstand the tempestuous journey through the atmosphere to reach the surface of a planet or moon — those are meteorites. Krysten Sarkissian, a student and full-time lab technician at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), got to spend two weeks at the University of Arizona (U of A) this summer studying these surviving space rocks.
