Students Already Registered with DRS

If you are already been approved for accommodations by the EMCC DRS office, you can use DRS Connect to implement your accommodations for your classes.

New Classes/New Semester

With each new class/semester, current students must log into DRS Connect to request their instructors be sent a faculty notification letter of their approved accommodations so that they can utilize them in those classes.  It takes 24 to 48 hours for classes to load into DRS Connect after you officially register in your Student Center. Be sure to make your requests early as accommodations are not retroactive.

Accommodated Test Scheduling

Students approved for testing accommodations must use DRS Connect to schedule accommodated testing for any exams that are to be taken in person or with in-person proctors.  For online classes that do not require taking in-person exams, please work with your instructor directly to implement your testing accommodations in the online learning system.  You do not need to schedule in DRS Connect in these situations.

If you have this accommodation, you will have a selection in DRS Connect called Alternative Testing which you will use to schedule. Follow the instructions in the link and provide the information requested to schedule, then submit your request.  The DRS office will receive your request and send the location of the exam once confirmed.

Please schedule exams in DRS Connect at least three business days in advance of the exam.  While we do our best to provide late requests, they are not guaranteed. The date of your exams is at the discretion of your instructor and is normally taken at the same time as all students in the class. Please confirm the exam dates prior to scheduling in DRS Connect. Submit any exam date/time changes in DRS Connect within the same timeline.  Be sure you have approval from your instructor for any changes.  If your accommodated exam time interferes with another class you need to attend, please work with your instructor to arrange an agreeable alternative time.  If you need assistance with complex scheduling situations, we are happy to help.

Interpreting Services

If you are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and need an interpreter services, please make your request directly to the EMCC DRS office at least four weeks prior to the start of class. You must have already been approved for this accommodation by EMCC DRS before interpreters can be scheduled.  Please see Future Students for the application and documentation process.  You must contact the EMCC DRS office at 623-935-8624 or [email protected] if you will be late or absent from class or you will be marked as a NO CALL, NO SHOW.  Please provide at least 72 hours’ notice whenever possible of a change in circumstances for your classes.  Students are responsible for notifying the EMCC DRS office of all class changes, such as when an instructor cancels classes or reschedules classes.
