EVENT** April 18, 2019 – EMCC holds Cybersecurity Round table

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) hosting a Cybersecurity Round table: Do I Have the Right Stuff? from 3 to 8:30 p.m. April 18 at 3000 N. Dysart Road. In addition to learning about the skill sets needed to succeed in the cybersecurity field, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with industry and university recruiters. NEWS** March 20, 2019 – EMCC Cybersecurity program has been formally redesignated as a National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Two Year Education

EMCC is proud to announce that our Information Technology and Power Systems Security Associates of Applied Science Degree program has been redesignated as a National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Two Year Education by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the current school year through year 2024.

EVENT** February 27, 2019 – EMCC Cybersecurity/Linux Users Group meeting

Join the EMCC Cybersecurity/Linux Users Group at 6:00 PM in Estrella Hall, room S260 for our monthly meeting.  This month’s topic is on udelv autonomous (self-driving) vehicles.  These vehicles are truly interdisciplinary – there are areas of interest for people in Linux, cybersecurity, networking, scripting, programming, and more! I really hope to see you there!  This public event is open to all at no cost and presents a unique opportunity to learn about cybersecurity and Linux programs at EMCC.

ENVENT** May 2, 2018 - Cybersecurity roundtable set for EMCC

Mosaic451 and Estrella Mountain Community College are hosting a cybersecurity roundtable from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2.  Six cybersecurity speakers with diverse backgrounds will discuss their experiences in the field. The event is titled “The Pursuit of Privacy: Explore Careers in Cybersecurity with Experts from Local Companies.

EVENT** September 29, 2016 – ASU Cyber Security Symposium

The Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce is excited to host “Arizona Cyber Threat Landscape: Wicked Problems and Solutions” on Thursday September 29, 7:30 to 9:30 am, at Estrella Mountain Community College.  In partnership with Arizona State University and Estrella Mountain Community College, “Arizona Cyber Threat Landscape” will feature highly recognized experts in the cybersecurity and threat response industry. 

 

NEWS** June 18, 1015 - Estrella Mountain CC Earns Recognition for Power Security Training

A 5,700-student community college in Arizona recently received a national designation for its cyber-defense education programs. Estrella Mountain Community College, which is one of the 10 schools that make up the Maricopa Community Colleges system, has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security for its Cyber Defense Two-Year Education program.  Click here to read more

NEWS** July 6, 1015 - Avondale college building cybersecurity workforce

Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale is the first two-year institution in the state to receive a National Centers of Academic Excellence designation in Cyber Defense, a program designed to cultivate more U.S. cyber professionals.  Click here to read more
